Reign Over Me

The trailer for Reign Over Me was just released,
I worked on this movie for four months between January and May 2006. It’s a good script and I liked the serious dramatic performance by Adam Sandler. It was also a fun movie on which to work.
I just think they made some poor choices with the title. For a long time, the movie was known as Empty City, a name with far greater significance because it symbolizes the loneliness that Sandler’s character feels in New York City after his wife and daughters died on one of the 9/11 airplanes.
The trailer makes it clear, though, that they’ve switched back to the original script title that used lyrics from The Who instead… but even this final decision is wrong since the actual song title was Reign O’er Me (okay, it was really Love, Reign O’er Me, but still), not Reign Over Me. What, do they think the viewers are too dumb to understand that apostrophe? Yeah, they probably are, unfortunately.
