Better late than never

Yes, I know that the whole blogging phenomenon has been going on for quite some time now, but I too have finally started my own blog. I’m not an early adopter, hence the long wait, but I suppose that this was inevitable. I come from five generations of newspaper publishers, I love to write, and I have been managing various e-mail lists for over a decade. Blogging is simply the next step.
It’s still too early to know exactly what direction this blog will take, but I think it will mostly focus on personal stuff, observations on life and travel, and commentary about working in Hollywood. I’ve also just started one of those “101 in 1001″ lists, so I’ll also use the blog to keep track of what I’ve done and what is still left to do.
By the way, today is 18 December 2006. It was exactly thirteen years ago today that I became an Eagle Scout. I figured that, of all the dates in December, this would be an appropriate one for starting my new blog. It also happens to be seventeen years since the death of my paternal grandmother, Frances C. Trimble (1911-1989). Being one of those aforementioned newspaper publishers, I hope that she would have been proud.
